Create Financial Freedom with no cost, risk, or selling.

I Didn’t Say It!

Do you want to start mixing with people who can help you become financially free and successful? Most people are looking in the wrong place – no wonder they’re stuck in quicksand.

I didn’t say this, but it is true. Keith Ferrazzi, in his excellent book, ā€œNever Eat Aloneā€, said, ā€œI’ve never been to a so-called ā€˜networking event’ in my life. If properly organized, these get-togethers in theory could work. Most, however, are for the desperate and uninformed.ā€ I’ve been saying this for years, but when a world leader like Ferrazzi says it, people might take notice.

Most networking events consist of a bunch of broke, self-employed salespeople trying to sell stuff to other broke people, and every second one of them is a ā€œcoachā€, ā€œconsultantā€, ā€œspeakerā€ or ā€œwriting a bookā€. Talk about the blind leading the blind! That’s why I started DollarMakers – we have a Code of Ethics, and I fire people who lie, cheat, and steal. I have never heard of a Chamber of Commerce firing anyone. We have standards and we educate our Members. And there is no fee to join the DollarMakers Women’s Club.

Like, it is said, attracts like. Birds of the feather. We’ve heard that the ā€œduds lead to studsā€, but usually the studs don’t want to have anything to do with the duds, so it very seldom happens in reality. Studs introduce you to other studs. The duds will introduce you to people like themselves. Who needs that?

The key to success is mixing with winners and learning from people who are smarter, richer, and more successful than you are. Make a good impression on a winner, earn the right, contribute to his or her success, establish your credibility, integrity, attitude, and motivation in his mind, and he might introduce you to a friend of his. One champion is worth a hundred losers. Being selective and avoiding the poisonous parasites and time vampires will free up your mind and time for real achievements.

Think of people like links in a chain. There are basically only two types of people,Ā  and one type (97% of people) will link you to others who will link you to mediocrity, frustration, and failure, while the other type (3% of people) will link you to people who will, in turn, link you to health, wealth and happiness. You only have 24 hours a day – spend it with winners; they understand relationships and reciprocation. Judge YOURSELF by the company you keep and decide whether you’re heading for success or failure.

Finally, when I talk about champions, I’m not talking about people you pay to have a photo taken with them or to attend their ā€œcoachingā€ program – I’m talking about truly successful entrepreneurs with whom you can Joint Venture, and from whom you can learn – not people who are constantly trying to upsell you. Mr. Ferrazzi said, ā€œRemember, if you’re organized, and a stickler for taking names, there’s no-one that’s out of reach.ā€ That’s great news, isn’t it? What goes around, comes around. Read his book, and start being as picky about each of your associates as you would be if you were spending $20,000 on a diamond.
