“Active or Passive?”
I wrote to my family in South Africa this Christmas morning. In my letter, I was interested to observe the way I put a certain sentence together. Here it is: “I love my new study – all wood, designed exactly the way I wanted it – it’s a dream made true.” Note – a dream doesn’t passively, randomly COME true – it is MADE true.
Like “falling pregnant” that’s like suddenly falling into a deep, dark hole in a leafy jungle. No – she made herself pregnant by choosing to sleep with someone. In our weak, passive-aggressive society, where we’re all politically correct and afraid to tell it the way it is, people are no longer fat or obese – they’re LARGE. Because they chose to pig out at the trough too much. I have a fat stomach because I eat too much junk and don’t get enough exercise. It’s not water retention or my mommy’s fault. Drug addiction and alcoholism is now a “disease”, like they were wandering around in a swamp somewhere and unexpectedly got bitten by the Alcohol Mosquito – not their fault! (Although they probably knew there were a few of those mosquitoes lurking in that swamp when they decided to visit…) No. They knew the dangers, understood the consequences, and choose, in spite of the warnings, to take drugs, drink, or smoke. They deserve the consequences. Pity my tax dollars have to go to paying for their choices, but welcome to creeping socialism.
OK, I know there are exceptions, like small children introduced to drugs by bad parents, but that’s not the context here. I’m talking about choice, not chance. I don’t like my tax money being used for lazy bums who choose not to work. I refuse to give people fish, when they are quite capable of fishing. That’s called a parasite. We sow and we reap. Winners take responsibility for the circumstances in their lives, because they know that CIRCUMSTANCES ARE CONSEQUENCES. Hoping for things to happen doesn’t work. Attending seminars is a waste of time unless you apply the information through disciplined, consistent action. You don’t get successful by osmosis.
Now for the good news. With this revelation that mysticism, witchcraft, and chance (note that successful people do not buy lottery tickets or gamble) don’t work, and seeing that your passive hopes didn’t result in the kind of results you wanted, I have a special offer for you for 2008: If you’re prepared to take consistent, disciplined action, rigorously follow a proven system, and remain committed for one year, (90% of my readers have already left), your life will be completely different in one year – you will have retired with more residual income than you need to live on. You will have the lifestyle you presently dream of, because you will make that dream happen. You CAN do this – but WILL you? Only you can make that decision. You do have the time and the money to do it, by the way.
If you want in, you have to commit to follow my instructions TO THE LETTER and I do not accept any excuses. One step at a time. No compromise. Regardless of your present circumstances. and you have to take full responsibility. Three percent of the people reading this will step up and retire in a year. You can be one of them.
